How to simulate analogue output without input signal on measuring transducer?
You can simulate analogue output of the measuring transducer via
MISET setting software. The procedure is following:
First af all save all settings of the transducer!!!
Then see MISET Help for instructions!
1. Upload and Save the original configuration of the transducer (use serial number as a file name for the original configuration).
2. Select the analogue output you want to simulate (i.E. Output 3, see below).
3. The analogue output is set 45-55 Hz, 0-10 mA. Change the 0.00 mA to 10.00 mA and press "Enter" on the keyboard.
4. Download Changes to the transducer.
5. After the simulation is complete restore the original configuration of the transducer from the modbus setting file (load original modbus setting file you stored previously and download all settings to the transducer).
If you need any additional information, please call or send an email.
The software doesn't recognize the transducer.
1. After installing and running the MISET software the following screen
should appear on the display of computer:
Before starting the communication between the computer and transducer please check the following:
- MI400 transducer is connected to the auxiliary power supply
- MI400 transducer is connected to serial port COM1
To start the communication select "Port" and "Start/Stop the Communication". The screen should change to the following:
For detailed information - see "MISET Quick Guide":
- paragraph BASICS on page 9
- description of the first screen above is on page 6
- default communication settings and how to connect the device is
written on pages 7 and 8
- port settings of MI 400 transducer are described on page 10
Note: "MISET Quick Guide" is on Software section, under Measuring
Transducers Software\MISET. To reach the "MISET Quick Guide" file
you have to register yourself or login if you are already registred!
I have 200V BQ0207 instrument on my stock and I need some 500 V to be delivered very urgently.
To change 200V to 500V a resistor cca. 300k (together will be 500k) should be added. To get the exact value of additional resistor, add variable resistor, set it to 300k and apply 500V to the instrument. Than set the variable resistor to the value that gives you the full range on the scale. This is the exact value of resistor you need to add.
I would like to use 5A cos φ meter, for a project with CT 1A. Is it possible?
It is not a problem, to use 5A instrument on 1A you just need to take in to consideration that the instrument will work within limits of 5A instrument. Measuring is conditioned with minimum power applied to the instrument. But from 0.5A will be within specified range.
Instrument MI7140 integrated in scada system can’t read data from the modbus addresses: 31700~31775 I can read other data.
The problem is in the software version of the instrument. Some types of data were added in modbus table later during the software upgrade. The latest modbus table can be found on our internet site (
https://iskra-mis.si). Select Products, click on Electrical Measuring Instruments, than choose the instrument and in Data Sheets section you can find modbus table.
To solve this problem you must upgrade software of the instrument. For instructions see FAQ "How to upgrade software in the Measuring Center with communication?"
How to upgrade software in the Measuring Center with communication?
To upgrade software of the instrument connect the instrument to supply and connect the communication. If the instrument has RS232 connect it directly to the PC’s COM PORT otherwise use RS232/RS485 communication adapter. This upgrade program is very specific and it might be a problem if any other software is communicating with the comm port. A problem could also occur if other communication adapters are used not Iskra communication adapter RS232/RS485 (MI485). To get the upgrade contact our sales managers. When you get the file save it to the PC, set following communication settings on the instrument:speed 9600, address 33, frame 8,n,1 and launch the exe file. Select the correct COM PORT, click Test to check if the instrument is communicating. Click Start to execute the upgrade. During the upgrade power supply should not be interrupted. Whole procedure could last a minute or two. Try a few times if first attempt will not be OK. After upgrade the instrument should automatically restart.
How to upgrade software on the instruments without communication?
To upgrade and set Instruments delivered without communication (Measuring Transducers, Measuring Centers, Energy Meters, Synchronoscopes,...) a special software with communication adapter is needed. This package is called MiPack.
